Dr. Kunal Shah is an Assistant Professor in the Division of Endocrinology, Metabolism and Nutrition at Rutgers-Robert Wood Johnson Medical School (Rutgers-RWJMS). He earned his medical degree from Rutgers-New Jersey Medical School before moving to Philadelphia where he completed his internal medicine residency and chief residency at Drexel University – Hahnemann University Hospital and fellowship training at Lewis Katz School of Medicine – Temple University Hospital.

Dr. Shah has a major interest in obesity medicine and is the medical director of obesity in the Endocrinology division at Robert Wood Johnson. He also works as a general endocrinologist. He was inducted into the Arnold P. Gold Humanism society during residency, where he also created a hospital protocol for diabetic ketoacidosis. During his fellowship, he worked on several ongoing projects including the effect of weight-negative diabetes medications on patients with bariatric surgery.
