REMINDER PPE Policy for DOM:
For all patients in all clinical areas (even if not directly in front of a patient)
- You must wear both a surgical mask and either goggles or a face shield
- this policy applies to all floors, units, and outpatient offices where patient care may occur
- this policy also applies with all direct contact of patients in the absence of known COVID or PUI status (if the patient is known COVID positive or PUI then see additional PPE needs below)
For any patient contact with known COVID/COVID PUI (person under investigation) :
- Full PPE includes N95 or its equivalent, surgical mask over N95, gown, and goggles/face shield for known COVID/COVID PUI
Mask Reprocessing Process in MEB (all details below in the attached FAQ sheet)
Where to go:
On the MEB first floor, immediately inside the doors to the right
When to drop off/pick up:
[ ] The dirty masks will be picked up at 9 am every day and the clean masks will be dropped off at that time[ ] ONLY Monday through Friday at this time
[ ] you will need two brown paper bags at time of drop offHow to do it:
[ ] please drop off the masks needing reprocessing in the RED bin (one mask per bag) [ ] Please put on gloves and label your N95 (on the top left corner) with your: FIRST NAME, LAST NAME, “MEB”, and DATE OF FIRST USE (with a permanent black marker) [ ] Please label your clean bag with FIRST NAME, LAST NAME, “MEB”What can you reprocess? see the attached FAQ sheet
[ ] 3M and Halyard can be reprocessed up to 2 times [ ] Tronex and Gerson cannot be the reprocessed**You cannot reprocess the mask if it has any of the following:
[ ] been reprocessed twice [ ] it is soiled or distorted [ ] it has holes, is flaking/shredding [ ] it has missing or broken straps
