Sara E Lubitz, MD
Sara Lubitz, MD is an Associate Professor at Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School where she serves as Program Director for the Endocrinology Diabetes and Metabolism Fellowship. She earned her medical degree from Rutgers New Jersey Medical School (formerly UMDNJ) and completed Internal Medicine residency, chief residency, and Endocrinology fellowship at New York University.
Areas of clinical interest include pituitary, thyroid and adrenal disease. She serves as Medical Director of the Pituitary Center at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital and serves as the adult endocrinologist for Comprehensive Care Center for Congenital Adrenal Hyperplasia. Dr. Lubitz leads clinical trials for Acromegaly, Cushing syndrome and hypoparathyroidism.
Dr. Lubitz is a leader in the field of medical education. On a local level, she is on the RBHS GME and serves on the RBHS Resident, Faculty, & Coordinator Development Subcommittee. Dr. Lubitz is the medical endocrinologist for the Sidney Kimmel Medical College of Thomas Jefferson University and IVIRMA Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility Fellowship. She is an active member of the Association for Program Directors in Endocrinology and Metabolism (APDEM) serving as vice-chair of the American Association of Clinical Endocrinologists (AACE)/APDEM joint liaison committee and the finance committee. She is the co-author of the Hypothalamic-Pituitary section of the APDEM fellowship curriculum. Dr. Lubitz also serves on the AACE Fellows Education Subcommittee and is question writer for ACE Self-Assessment Program (ASAP).
David A Cohen, MD, FACE, FACP, ECNU
Dr. Cohen is a clinician-educator in the Division of Endocrinology and Department of Medicine at the Robert Wood Johnson School of Medicine. A graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (go Tar Heels!), he earned his medical degree at The Keck School of Medicine at University of Southern California. He then completed his residency in Combined Internal Medicine and Pediatrics at The Mount Sinai Hospital where he served as Chief Resident followed by a fellowship in Endocrinology, Diabetes, and Metabolism at The Keck School of Medicine at University of Southern California and a Rabkin Fellowship in Medical Education at Harvard Medical School/Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center. In addition to working as an inpatient Hospitalist at the Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, Dr. Cohen works as a general endocrinologist. His clinical interests include thyroid disease (hypo- and hyperthyroidism, thyroid nodules, and thyroid cancer) and care of transgender individuals. He possesses an Endocrine Certification in Neck Ultrasound and is the Director of the Thyroid Nodule and Biopsy Clinic. He also is certified by the World Professional Association for Transgender Health (WPATH) and the co-director of the Adult PROUD Gender Center Hormone Affirmation Center Clinic. Academically, Dr. Cohen is the Vice Chair of the Department of Medicine for Education, the Course Director for the Internal Medicine Sub-Internship, & the Chair of the Volunteer Appointments and Promotions Committee and the Grand Rounds Coordinator for the Department of Medicine. He recently completed the Academic Leadership Program at Rutgers Biomedical Health Sciences and holds numerous clinical and educational leadership roles in the American Association of Clinical Endocrinologists (AACE), The Endocrine Society, the American Thyroid Association, and Alliance for Academic Internal Medicine. His research interests are both clinical and educational, particularly in the area of active learning, teaching techniques, and health care disparities.
Hyon S Kim, MD
Dr. Hyon Kim is an Assistant Professor in the Division of Endocrinology, Metabolism and Nutrition at Rutgers-Robert Wood Johnson Medical School (Rutgers-RWJMS). She earned her medical degree from Rutgers-RWJMS where she also stayed to complete her residency training in Internal Medicine. This was followed by a clinical fellowship in Endocrinology at New York University. During her fellowship, she did clinical research on dopamine-agonist resistant prolactinomas and hypophysitis under the mentorship of Dr. Nidhi Agrawal. Dr. Kim joined the Rutgers-RWJMS faculty in 2021. She is a member of AACE and the Endocrine Society. Her areas of clinical interest include diabetes, pituitary disorders and general endocrinology.
Aviva Y Cohn, MD
Aviva Cohn is a board certified endocrinologist and Assistant Professor at Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School. Dr. Cohn, a native of New Jersey, completed her medical school training and internal medicine residency at Robert Wood Johnson Medical School. She then completed her endocrinology fellowship at Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Harvard Medical School in Boston Massachussetts. Dr. Cohn works as a general endocrinologist, and has a clinical and research interest in women’s health and endocrinology.
