The Department of Medicine at Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson medical school provides transgender and nonbinary adults with compassionate, patient-centered care that addresses each individual’s specific needs. Working together with the RWJUH PROUD Gender Center team of patient navigators, nurses, surgeons, OBGyn, urology, and voice specialists, our doctors follow the standards of care guidelines provided by the World Professional Association for Transgender Health (WPATH).
If you are transitioning, hormone therapy plays a major role in that journey. Our transgender medicine endocrinologists are experts in the field of sex steroid biology. Our endocrinologists provide tailored gender-affirming hormone therapy. Testosterone, estrogen, and medications to block hormone production are used to meet the transition goals of the individual patient. Hormones are not a part of every transition, but for those who desire them, we offer a variety of treatment methods.
We are here to support you throughout your journey.
